Hi there, Meraki here with another helpful CBD tip!
One of the most frequently asked questions that we receive in the ole' inbox is "How much of a CBD dosage should I take daily?"
A good rule of thumb to determine how much CBD you should ingest is to take 1 - 6 MG of CBD for every 10 pounds of your body weight. For example, if you weigh 150 pounds, then the recommend dosage would be 15 - 25 MG to start off with; if you are a person weighing 200lbs then consider starting with a dosage that is 20 - 33 MG.
Remember this is just a helpful guideline, but there are a variety of factors such as age, your reason for taking CBD, metabolic rate and the quality of product. A person suffering from a serious case of insomnia, anxiety or depression may need to increase their intake from the general rule of thumb.
Capsules and gummies will tell you the specific milligram amount of CBD, however drops and sprays may be more challenging to calculate. With droplets, we've taken care of the math for you, if the bottle contains 500 MG of CBD, then divide the size of the bottle by the number of drops (example 500 MG divided by 200 drops will give you 2.5 MG of CBD; if you are wanting to take 25 MG of CBD then you would need to take 10 drops total).
At Meraki, we recommend starting off at the lower end of the dosage. Keep track of how much you ingest and how helpful the dosage made you feel. We recommend tracking how many hours you slept, how you felt when you woke up, pain level scale, stress relief scale and a sense of calm to determine if you should increase your dosage, decrease or remaining at the same intake.
The Mayo Clinic suggests CBD dosages based on research and provides the following breakdown:
As always, with any change to your diet and exercise, consult your doctor.
